Other birds common to the area are toucans, owls, wild ducks, quetzals, thrushes, hummingbirds and woodpeckers among others.  There are also approximately 2,000 species of native plants in the area, including a multitude of wild orchids, and around 40 different species of butterflies.

When you come to Mindo for adventure, the activities that will make your adrenaline flow are the CANOPY and tubing on the Río Mindo or the Río Blanco.  There is also an infinite number of activities for your relaxation such as ecological walks, waterfalls and the butterfly center that are great tourist attractions for your eyes with their gambit of colors and shapes.  Contact us and we’ll assist you in organizing the activities that will make your experience unforgettable.
