El verbo to be es el equivalente al verbo ser o estar en español. Se conjuga de tres manera diferentes dependiendo de la persona o pronombres personales:

1.- Pronombre personal I (Yo): I am (Yo soy o Yo estoy)

2.- Pronombres personales He (Él), She (Ella) y It (Eso):

He is (Él es o Él está), She is (Ella es o Ella está) y It is (Eso es o Eso está).

3.- Pronombres personales You (Tú), You (Ustedes), We (Nosotros) y They (Ellos):

You are (Tú eres o Tú estás), You are (Ustedes son o Ustedes están), We are (Nosotros somos o Nosotros estamos) y They are (Ellos son o Ellos están).

EXAMPLES:

Para formar el negativo del verbo to be se debe agregar not después del verbo: I am not (Yo no soy o Yo no estoy), You are not (Tú no eres o Tú no estás), He is not (Él no es o Él no está), She is not (Ella no es o Ella no está), It is not (Eso no es o Eso no está), We are not (Nosotros o nosotras no somos, o Nosotros o nosotras no estamos), You are not (Ustedes no son o Ustedes no están), They are not (Ellos no son o Ellos no están).

A.- The Jonas Brothers  is an American pop music band. The members of this band are the three brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas. They are special artists because they spend time with their family and have a foundation to help children. Let´s take a look at the Jonas family members.

B.- Her name is Denise Jonas. She is a loving mother, but she is strict, too. She goes with her sons to all concerts and interviews.

C.- This is Mr. Kevin Jonas, the father. He is a public figure but he doesn´t like to be on camera. He is the manager of  his sons´ band.

D.- Kevin Jonas is 29 years old. In the band, he plays the guitar and sings. He is romantic. He likes to practice pole vaulting, but he doesn´t have a lot of time to practice it now. He supports many causes as a volunteer and contributor.

E.- Joe Jonas is 27 years old. He is the lead singer in the band. He is the fun and sporty brother. He loves to work out and play soccer in his free time. He supports Special Olympic organizations in their foundation.

F.- Nick Jonas is 24 years old. He is quiet and sensitive. He doesn´t talk a lot, but he is a good songwriter. He plays the drums. He supports children who suffer from diabetes. He likes to write songs and play baseball in his free time.
